Process Simulation

Computational fluid dynamics is extensively used since 1950s for the process simulation of casting and bulk forming. A continuum mechanics incorporating phase transformation (enthalpy change) and temperature dependent conductivity and other thermo-mechanical properties are the basic requirements for such simulations of 2D and 3D space and time domain. Finite deference based methods and recently finite element based methods have come up features for handling such simulations. Therefore the basic simulations are carried out by AutoCAST (FDM Software) and ANSYS 11 (FEM Software).
